World Darts Champion Michael Smith will begin his title defense at the 2023-24 Paddy Power World Darts Championship on the opening night of the tournament. The full tournament draw and schedule have been announced, with the event taking place from December 15-January 3 at London's Alexandra Palace.
Smith, who won his first world title in January 2023, will face Martin Schindler in his opening match on the first night. The tournament will feature 96 players, including the top 32 players in the PDC Order of Merit and 32 qualifiers.
Other notable players in the draw include Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen, and Jonny Clayton. Price will face Chris Dobey in the first round, while Wright will play Callan Rydz and van Gerwen will take on Lewy Williams.
