In a highly anticipated quarterfinal clash at the 2023 Stuttgart WTA tournament, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka emerged victorious over former champion Paula Badosa in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Sabalenka showcased her powerful serve and aggressive groundstrokes throughout the match. The Belarusian player broke Badosa's serve twice in the first set and maintained her dominance in the second set, securing her victory in just 77 minutes.
Badosa, the defending champion, put up a valiant fight but was ultimately outplayed by Sabalenka's superior play. The Spaniard saved two break points in the opening set but was unable to convert her own break opportunities.
