Dele Alli Nowhere Near Fit Enough For Everton Start Admits Sean Dyche

Dele Alli 'Nowhere Near Fit Enough' for Everton Start, Admits Sean Dyche

Midfielder Returns to Training but Needs Match Fitness

Alli Out for Over a Year

Everton manager Sean Dyche has revealed that midfielder Dele Alli is still not fit enough to start for the Toffees.

Alli has been out of action for over a year with a back injury but has recently returned to training.

However, Dyche says the 26-year-old needs to build up his fitness before he can be considered for selection.

Alli Needs Match Fitness

Dyche said: "He's nowhere near fit enough at present. He needs games so a programme has got to come next.

"When you've been out that long you need a period of building up and getting to true fitness."

Alli has not played since leaving Tottenham in January 2022.

Everton Struggling in Possession

Dyche also spoke about Everton's struggles in possession, with the team averaging just 44 meters from goal when winning back the ball.

He said: "The changes that are needed at Everton are not as radical as some might think. But insists Premier League survival is paramount.

Alli's Return to Fitness Crucial for Everton

Alli's return to fitness will be a boost for Everton, who are currently 19th in the Premier League and in danger of relegation.

The midfielder has a wealth of experience at the highest level and could help the Toffees improve their creativity and attacking threat.

However, Dyche will need to carefully manage Alli's fitness in order to avoid any setbacks.
